The purpose of this document is to provide a quick start into the Apple Business Manager (ABM) portal steps required to get macOS devices enrolled into MCM and iOS and iPadOS devices enrolled to BigFix Mobile using Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP).

What is ABM
ABM is an on-line portal (hosted or owned by Apple) that plays a key role in facilitating zero touch or Automated Device Enrollment for Apple devices. You can think of ABM as part of the zero touch boot strap process that directs a new or reset device to BigFix MCM. In a nutshell, every enterprise using zero touchenrollments needs to register for an ABM account, register the serial numbers for the devices being enrolled via zero touch and register a profile for that device. These steps are all done outside the BigFix management interface and directly in the ABM portal.

Configuring ABM or BigFix MCM server for DEP

There are three main actions required in ABM to configure a device for DEP:

• Define the MDM server to ABM
• Obtain a ABM authentication token for the MDM server
• Configure the devices you want to enroll
